This tasty french tarte has just the right amount of sweetness and coziness to go with a cup of tea or with ice cream for a simple, yet delectable dessert! Bon appetit!

Do you want someting lighter than an apple pie but just as cozy? This tarte combines almond and apple flavors, a true match made in heaven!
Here's what you'll need
Rolled or handmade pie dough
Apples (Honeycrisp are arguably the best for apple pies, though you choose the ones you like best!)
Salted butter
Granulated sugar
Almond paste
Jam of choice (apricot, pear or quince work great!)
In a saucepan, start off by caramelizing your apples in butter. Then set up your pie dough by rolling into a large circle, and placing a rolled out disc of almond paste in the center. Add half of your jam, then add the caramelized apples and finish off with the rest of the jam on top. Thats it! Then fold over your pie dough to create the open tarte look and voila, your ready to bake!

How to Serve
The tarte can be eaten on its own, warmed before serving or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent treat!
